YouTube has just announced that certain healthcare professionals and health information providers can now apply to have their channels certified and eligible for YouTube’s health product features.

Eligible channels will be given a health source information panel that will identify them as licensed health professionals and have their videos appear in relevant search results.

Previously, only organizations such as public health departments and hospitals were able to access these features and be certified.

For now, YouTube is focusing on helping doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and health information providers bring high-quality health information on YouTube.

YouTube has also stated that they will start rolling it out starting on October 27 among creators in the USA and continue to expand its availability in other markets and medical specialties in the future.
