Everyone is waiting what will be next for Apple in this coming June for their annual WWDC. iOS will definitely be one of the highlights, but are we seeing a new mapping platform on the iOS 6?

Apple has already acquired several mapping companies since 2009. Apple purchased PlaceBase in mid 2009, and followed that with a 3D mapping company Ploy9 later that same year and lastly C3 Technologies just last year.
Here is how the 3D mapping looks like.

Looks like Apple is into something again, the same strategy when they acquired “siri” back in 2007 and have it released with iPhone 4s last year.

Back then during the first release of iPhone, Steve Jobs mentioned that having Google Maps right on your phone is one of the best experience you will get. In a way this gave way for Google Maps to be a mainstream for all the users. Google Maps has been the dominant mapping platform ever since, but with the switch Apple will be making, could this possibly change the game for GoogleMaps?

Are we saying goodbye to Google Maps?
